JUMP!!

Hey everyone! Some of the dancers just returned from JUMP today and yesterday! We had a BLAST!! We took classes from Nick Lazzarini the winner from So You Think You Can Dance, Mandy Moore, a choreographer from So You Think You Can Dance, Dee Caspery and Mike Minery, both choreographers and owners of their own dance shows off broadway and in LA. Tyler Hoy was the winner of a Jazz scholarship!! Congratulations Tyler!!! This week for dance class it's Holiday parties! Come ready to learn and then we're going to CELEBRATE!!! Thank you everyone who attended JUMP!! 

Bring A Friend/Miss Natalie's B-day

Hey Everyone! Holy cow! The bring a friend to dance week was PACKED! I felt like I was at a workshop during the Thursday night hip hop! I hope everyone really liked your prizes. I had them specially made just for that. Thank you to everyone for wishing me a Happy Birthday! It was a great one! Thank you. This weekend some of the dancers are attending the JUMP workshop in Minnesota. We are heading up there tomorrow. It should be a jam-packed, action-packed, hard working workshop! I'm sure it will be a blast. Next week is our Christmas/Winter parties and then it's our last week of classes for the 2008 year! Starting in 2009 we are going to work really hard on getting those routines finished. Along with cleaning up Disturbia for the basketball game in February. Don't forget about those extra practices! Thanks again to everyone that came to the Bring A Friend week. I hope their friends/brothers/nieces/and everyone else really enjoyed it. I did. See you when we get back from up North!

Natalie's Dance on Youtube

Thanks to Allie A. we have some recital dances on Youtube!! She was nice enough to put some routines for "New York, New York" and from last year "Happy Birthday." Allie has also put together some mixes of different routines and even some commercials for Natalie's Dance together. Bring a Friend to Dance is this week! I can't wait to start handing out those prizes!! 

Let it Snow!!

The first week of December is over! The blog is up and running at school again! All is good!! Next week is bring a friend week and I know everyone is just dying to know what the prize is!? You're going to love them! I love them!! And it's NOT candy. 

Some highlights of this week are: we tried some yoga stretches in tumbling classes; Summer and Carly brought me a cake and my birthday isn't until next week :) But I loved it; Taylor S. has her triplets down to a T; everyone is working on turning leaps; Disturbia is almost finished; I got a compliment on how cheap the Disturbia costumes are! Woot! Woot!; Tyler hurt his knee during school, but he's doing better now; Shy is back at practice after being sick; everyone from the high school class made it to practice this week!; and Dallys also made it to practice even through the winter snow.

Tuesday, Tuesday

It's been a while since I've been on. They blocked us from it at school, so no more writing posts while at school :( Oh well, I should be working. Dance is going great! I've had a weird, scratchy voice the past few days. I've been to the doctor and on medicine. All is well. We've really started to work on our routines. The dancers really seem to like them, which makes me happy. We're trying to have a lot of fun with our routines this year. They're all telling a story and they all are getting into them. It's going to be our best year yet!!! VIVA LAS VEGAS!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you! Thank you! Anita and Kendra have both left comment! I appreciate hearing from everyone. Keep the comments coming. Last night at dance class we have an alumni visit us. Ms. Chelsea DeVore came to visit us at the dance studio. Thanks to Maddy!! We sure miss Chelsea. Last night we also worked on a fun hip hop routine to some Christmas music (a little early, but still fun). We also learned more of our Money, Money, Money dance. It's coming along really nicely! There's no classes tonight or tomorrow. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 

Costumes and Extra Practices!

Over the weekend I went to Super Target and found the costumes we'll be using for the routine Disturbia. That's great. We also bought all the fabric for three solo costumes. We're going to get started working on those. Competition dancers had an extra practice on Sunday. We were at the studio for 2 hours some of us!! The "Dream Girls" routine is FINISHED!!! It will be great! We've only got class tonight and tomorrow due to Thanksgiving break. Have a Happy Thanksgiving Dancers!! 

Crazy Tumbling Tricks!!

Last night at dance class we had Tumbling II. We worked on our main tricks, some one handed tricks, and our partner tricks. Our partner tricks went crazy! We had people get kicked in the eye, fingers in the back, arms hurt, heads hurt, the works!! Even when I was spotting a back handspring I got hit in the face! It was a WILD night of tumbling! Luckily no one was seriously hurt. 

I told the Hip Hop II dancers about us performing at the January 24th Girls Basketball game. The game starts at 4:00 for anyone that would like to come and watch us perform!! It'll be quite a show! We have two extra practices that you HAVE to attend to perform at the basketball game. 

We also finished Allie's solo last night! It is intense with lots of tricks! Nice job Allie! Have a great weekend everyone!! 

Parent Watch Week

This week is parent watch week and it's been a CRAZY parent watch week. I don't think we've ever had so many parents come and watch the classes. The studio has been packed!! The dancers have been doing a great job dancing even with the distractions. Nice work everyone!! 

We've decided to scratch the K.C. dance competition and I've already had a complaint because someone was really looking forward to going to it. :( I'll have to see what I can do! Maybe we can get some people to go. Also, the competition dancers are doing a Dancer Dance-a-Thon. Good luck guys!! Go get those pledges!! 

And the most exciting news of the week!!!!! Natalie's Dance Studio gets to perform at a Winterset High School Basketball game and maybe Wrestling meet!! Woot! Woot!! We're going to have to work REALLY hard!! Great work everyone! Another week almost over! You're all doing wonderful! 

Here's the Weekend!!

Hey Everyone!! It's Friday, we just went through another week of dance. I'm getting those dancer penpals put together, so you'll be getting your penpals hopefully before Thanksgiving! Classes are going well. I'm glad to see everyone wearing your leotards and following the attire rules. Everyone is doing really well. Keep working hard!! Next week is parent watch week so remember to tell your parents to come and see how much you're learning. Have a great weekend dancers and I'll see you all bright eyed and bushy tailed next week!! 

Natalie's Dance Studio

This is our first post! I thought it would be fun to see all sides of Natalie's Dance Studio. I'll post what's going on in the studio, what's up coming and put pictures of the kids in classes or at competitions. Everyone else can post what you thought of it and what you liked, etc. So far, it's just the same old, same old. Kids are working at the ballet barre, working on technique and then doing leaps and tricks across the floor. This week the kids are picking out their costumes. Some are what I thought they might pick, others are not at all what I thought! Competition practice is going well. We've started a new routine called Dream Girls. It should be a lot of fun!! Everyone is following the new dance attire rules and they all look great! We've also got some dances on youtube thanks to Allie! Check them out!
